Womens’ Health Expert in Northumberland

  • As a pregnant and new mother in 2019/20 I felt completely alone. Lost, anxious uncomfortable with the sheer lack of control that comes with pregnancy and new born life. Exercise has always been my go to but after early bleeding and constant sickness in my first pregnancy I could not even rely on that any more. I felt my body had failed me, both in pregnancy and labour and now I had a newborn who needed constant contact and didn’t sleep during the night.

Motherhood was unraveling me. What I know now was that it was also making me.

I was made redundant while on maternity leave and with a fire in my belly about the lack of support for women in pregnancy and postnatal exercise I decided to go back to my origins as a dancer and personal trainer and become qualified in pre and postnatal exercise. This led to yoga teacher training, and the obsession with the mind body connection began.

  • Over the last 4 years I have spent hours deepening my knowledge in women health from cycle regulation, to fertility, Pregnancy, birth and postpartum to the more physical body mechanics.

I have taken specific training in Birth Bio Mechanics, Physiological Birth, Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine for Women’s Health, Pelvic Health rehabilitation. I have chosen to train with leading midwifes, physios and expert yoga practitioners to ensure that the information and techniques I share with you are the most relevant and best working practices.

  • As well as being fascinated by the science and the biology I also LOVE the energetic world. The idea that we are part of a much bigger energetic life is woven into each and every yoga class and one to one that I teach. I have a special talent for awakening the energetic body via movement and mindfulness and often clients leave my sessions feel both physically and mentally balanced.

In addition to the work stuff... We have an allotment and the outdoors is incredibly important to us all for the regulation it provides. I like baking, I like eating cake and biscuits more! The beach is MY tranquil space. At the moment a few hours without children and not working might be spent doing a little yoga, journaling and walking outdoors. I really do practice what I teach because it works for my regulation and well being.
